The smartphones were launched in India last month, with the Mi LED Smart TV 4. At the February 22 sale, the company had claimed to have sold more than 3 lakh units of the models within the first 3 minutes.
Specifications wise both the phones come with a 5.99-inch FHD+ Full View display, with an aspect ratio of 18:9. They also sport similar unibody design. The Redmi Note 5 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor at the core. It is equipped with a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera sensor.
Both the phones run MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat out of the box. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor, sporting an aperture of f/2.2 and a 1.25-micron pixel size and a 5MP secondary sensor of f/2.0 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size, at the back. On the front is present a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with LED selfie light. The phone is packed with a 4000mAh battery. Recently, the Redmi Note 5 Pro got the face unlock feature via an over-the-air update. This update made it the first smartphone in India to have a facial recognition technology.
It should be noted that the Cash on Delivery (COD) option is not available for buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro black color variant. The smartphones will be available in a limited quantity like last time. So, buyers have to be very fast to place their orders.
