The screen has virtually no bezel! Apart from its frameless design, what has really grabbed attention is that the Mi TV 4 is extremely thin, measuring only 4.9mm!
Xiaomi’s first product announcement for 2018 for the Indian market is scheduled for today.
Although the Chinese smartphone maker has not officially provided any details of the products lined up for the New Delhi event, there are expectations of Xiaomi launching its first Mi TV in India. Speculations are for the company to launch its latest Mi TV 4, alongside the Redmi Note 5.
The predecessor of the latest model, the Redmi Note 4, is already available in India and has a price tag of ₹10,999 for the variant with 64GB internal storage. The Redmi Note 5 is expected to be priced much higher, maybe above ₹15,000.
The latest smartphone should be available for purchase next week, and there are wide speculations of a flash sale on both Mi.com and Flipkart.
According to rumors, Redmi Note 5 would sport a bezel-less design, with a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display. The screen would offer resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
Redmi Note 5 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 636 and run Android 8.0 Oreo. There may be two variants, one offering 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The latest model from Xiaomi is expected to sport a dual camera setup, with a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. It could come with an 8MP front camera. Redmi Note 5 may pack in a 4100mAh battery and have a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
The Chinese company had unveiled its Mi TV 4 at last year’s CES. There are three screen sizes available:
The screen has virtually no bezel! Apart from its frameless design, what has really grabbed attention is that the Mi TV 4 is extremely thin, measuring only 4.9mm! In fact, the company claimed that it’s 30% thinner than an iPhone!
Mi TV 4 has a brushed metal cover and has a small, transparent stand. Mi says that the new model has been reengineered to feel “almost like you’re watching a piece of glass display in the air.”
Mi TV 4 comes with integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers and a subwoofer. There’s a single cable connection called Mi Port that connects Mi TV Bar to the display. It has Dolby Atmos 3D spherical surround sound.
Mi TV4 has AI (artificial intelligence) based UI called PatchWall. Xiaomi says, “Our deep learning AI system understands your preferences and intelligently classifies content, so everyone gets to enjoy highly personalized recommendations.”
Mi TV 4 comes with Samsung or LG 4K display panels and a 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core CPU, along with Mali-T830 image processor.
The New Delhi event scheduled for today could also see the launch of the Mi Box.
