Phones will have a fingerprint scanner and a primary camera along with LED flash on the rear. Both the handsets seem to consist of two SIM card slots.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) have been seen in a user manual, after some preliminary leaks as well as rumours. The new phones of Samsung’s Galaxy A series are likely to be unveiled in January 2018. The Galaxy A8 was first unveiled in South Korea way back in September 2016.
The user manual spotted on the company’s official site reveals the design of both the Galaxy A8 (2018) models. According to the manual, the smartphones will come with a bezel-less Infinity display which is akin to that available in Galaxy S8 as well as Galaxy S8+ flagship models. The layout in the manual indicates that the devices will sport a dual camera setup at the front. Also, the manual displays that the smartphones will come with USB Type-C port instead of Micro USB, which is available on every Galaxy A-series smartphone.
The user manual also indicates that these smartphones will have identical builds but does not disclose anything regarding the build material. However, the manual does say that both the devices will support dust and water resistance. The manual also shows that the phones will have a fingerprint scanner and a primary camera along with LED flash on the rear. Both the handsets seem to consist of two SIM card slots. One slot supports a Nano SIM card while the other slot offers support for a microSD card. As per the official document, connectivity options in the A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) will include Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC at the back.
The official manual does not reveal details about the specifications of the A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018). However, the key specifications of A8+ (2018) were leaked in a video seen for a short duration on YouTube. A GSMArena report says that the three-minute hands-on video claimed that A8+ (2018) sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED full-HD+ Infinity display with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9, which is identical to the aspect ratio of Samsung Galaxy S. The device is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 SoC along with 6GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB. Also, the handset is said to run on Android 7.1 Nougat with a customized user interface on top.
Recently, a few leaked images of the A8+ (2018) were seen online. These images are indicative of Samsung’s efforts in updating the design of the Galaxy A series. It seems that the company is also developing the Galaxy A7 (2018), Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A3 (2018) along with the high-end Galaxy A8 (2018) versions. It is probable that these new models will be displayed at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas in January. The Galaxy S9 and S9+, are also likely to be unveiled at the show, according to a trusted VentureBeat leakster. Though it is not clear as to how much Samsung will reveal at the show, but both the smartphones will be launched officially in March 2018.
