Samsung is likely to introduce the 2018 versions of the Galaxy A-Series early next year. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017) were launched in January at the CES event this year. It is expected that the Galaxy A5 (2018) will be launched at the CES next year. Samsung’s much-awaited smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, are also likely to be unveiled first at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas in January.
Expectations are for the A-Series lineup at the event to consist of the Galaxy A7 (2018), Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A3 (2018). The Galaxy A5 (2018) was seen on many leaked renders revealing the handset’s design. This smartphone has also been spotted next to the Galaxy A7 (2018) on several certification sites.
Sam Mobile was the first to report the case renders of the Galaxy A5 (2018). According to the report, the device may sport a metal and glass design and a fingerprint scanner beneath the lens of the single camera on the rear. The power button will be on the right panel while the volume rockers will be on the left. There is another button on the right panel which could be the Bixby button. Moreover, the device comes with Olixar’s transparent case which shows several shades of colour but does not reveal the exact design of the exterior.
The leaked case renders show that the Galaxy A5 (2018) is likely to come with an Infinity Display akin to the Galaxy S8 (2017). The handset may be powered by the company’s Exynos 7885 SoC processor or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A5 (2018) could have a 3.5mm audio jack as well as a USB Type-C port.
