Redmi 5 Plus come with a 5.99-inch full HD+ screen, with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
Redmi Note 5 would likely be launched in India on Valentine’s Day, as inferred from an event page on the Mi.com site.
Xiaomi has sent out media invites for its first event in the country this year, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on February 14. With the number ‘5’ being mentioned twice on the invite, there have been speculations of the Chinese smartphone maker launching Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus during the event in the capital. These two models had been launched in China in December 2017.
However, it now looks like Xiaomi will launch the successor of Redmi Note 4, which has been a bestseller for the Chinese company.
According to rumors, Redmi 5 Plus would come with a 5.99-inch full HD+ screen, with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device would be powered by a 2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It would run MIUI 9 with Android 8.0 Oreo.
The smartphone may come in two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The handset is expected to pack in a 4,000mAh battery.
Redmi Note 5 would sport a dual camera setup at the back, with 12MP and 5MP sensors. The rear camera would come with a f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and dual-LED dual-tone flash. The front camera would be 8MP.
We will have to wait for the February 14 event for the confirmed specifications of the Redmi Note 5, along with its price and availability in the country.
