Nokia 8 is going to launch on the 31st of July

Nokia has been making headlines this year with the launch of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 owing to the fact that HMD Global revived the company recently. Nokia has once again made headlines with the news of the launch of Nokia 8, which is going to take place on the 31st of July.

Up until now, the latest model of Nokia with the model number TA-1004, was being called the Nokia 9 in all reports and leaks about it. However, the latest report has stated that it is not going to be called the Nokia 9 when it launches but is instead going to be known as the Nokia 8.

According to the report by, which cites what Scandinavian retailers have said, the phone will be priced at EUR 589 which is approximately INR 44,000. It will support a 5.7 inch 2K display; have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone is also rumoured to be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset of Qualcomm that clocks at 2.45Ghz.

The report is also hinting at the presence of two launches for different versions of the phone. The first version will have a dual slot for the SIM card while the second version might have a single SIM slot.

The operating system on the phone is going to be the Android Nougat 7.1.1. out-of-the-box. According to reports, the phone will also have a number of other features such as Quick Charge 3.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack as well as a fast charger of USB Type-C.

For photography enthusiasts, the phone is going to be a treat as it is going to have a dual rear setup in the camera. The camera will also be equipped with a dual LED flash and two 13 megapixel lenses for each camera.

For those customers who like focusing on design and look, there is no need to worry. The phone is going to be launched in a range of colors such as gold, steel, blue and copper.

There is nothing that has been said about which countries the Nokia 8 is going to be releasing in (except that the launch is going to take place in Europe) and if India is going to be one of the countries which will see its launch. However, since the company has released the previous versions of the smart phone,

Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India, there is hope that they will continue to do so with the Nokia 8 as well.

However, like it is with all reports and leaks, such as the one about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, there is always a chance that there is going to be a change at the last minute. The product might not end up being exactly what the reports state. All we have to do is wait for the last day of this month to see what is it that Nokia and HMD Global have managed to come up with.
