At the core, the notebooks will run on 8th generation Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i5 processors. They will have SSD storage with an optional secondary SSD storage slot. The company claims that the product has passed all seven MIL-STD 810G durability tests. It’s Nano-Carbon, Magnesium full metal body on the outer shell can be credited for achieving this feat. This has also led to additional claims by the brand that these notebooks will be 20% more durable as compared to the traditional magnesium bodied laptops.
Other features in the laptop are presence of backlit keyboards, precision touchpads, touch-enabled displays and finger-print sensors. The notebooks will also come with Thunderbolt3 ports and DTS headphone X technology, which delivers a 1.5W hi-fi surround sound and a multi-channel sound of up to 11.1 channels.
These thin and light LG Intel-based laptops will be an addition to recent product launches, where manufacturers have focused on a larger battery life on ARM-based Windows 10 notebooks. More details regarding the pricing and availability of these laptops are expected at the launch in
CES 2018. For starters they are being planned to be made available in US stores from January, 2018 onwards.
The company has made huge claims regarding the battery life and much of those claims will be put to test, only after its launch in the CES next month. Samsung will also provide stiff competition to LG laptops in the similar category of long-lasting battery life, with its recent announcement of Notebook 9 lineup for 2018.
