The official pre-orders for the Jio phone are set to start from the 24th of August 2017. The company has also said that it is going to start a limited beta test which will begin on the 15th of August.
In order to register for the Jio Phone, the following steps are to be taken. You need to first visit the official website of Jio and click on the ‘Keep me posted’ option that is on the page. After this, a pop-up page will appear which will require you to fill in certain details. These details will be your email ID, name, mobile number and pin code. After you fill in these details, you need to click on the submit button.
You then have two options to place your order. The first is to go on the My Jio App and place the order while the second is to go to an authorized retailer who will sell Jio Phones.
For the Jio Phone, the customer has to pay a security deposit of INR 1500, which will be refundable. The money needs to be paid when you collect the phone from the retailer and it will be refunded to you after a period of three years.
Mukesh Ambani has dubbed this phone as one that will be available at a price of zero rupees. Reliance Jio has plans to supply the Jio Phone to 5 million people. They want to do so to provide people with a 4G network that is affordable and also to tap into the market of feature phones.
The phones are going to provide users with unlimited calls along with unlimited usage of the internet up to 500 MB every day. After this amount is exhausted, the speed of the internet will be reduced. The Jio Phones will also connect to any TV and will also have its own streaming application. This package will be cost INR 309 every month and will combine unlimited calls with 1GB of data every single day.
The company has plans of offering unlimited 4G data at merely INR 153 per month. Mukesh Ambani has said “JioPhone will make the 2G feature phone obsolete.” He also added that the company wants to bring 5 million phones to the market every single week.
Since the launch that took place last September, Reliance Jio has got 125 million users. Hence it is reasonable to assume that the phone is going to have a great demand when it does actually hit markets. So, go ahead and pre order the phones as soon as you can by following the steps mentioned above.
