Huawei Matebook X Pro sports 13.9-inches, 3000x2000 pixels LTPS display, which is capable of 450 nits’ brightness and 100% SRGB color.
Huawei launched its laptop; the Huawei MateBook X Pro and its tablet called the MediaPad M5 in the MWC 2018, being held in Barcelona, Spain. The laptop is the first product to sport the Huawei FullView Display, and the tablet will be the first one to have a 2.5D glass screen. Before this the brand had launched the MateBook D in December, 2017.
The new laptop is bigger and more powerful notebook, with a better display and audio technology. It sports 13.9-inches, 3000×2000 pixels LTPS display, which is capable of 450 nits’ brightness and 100% SRGB color. It is the first of the company’s products to have the Huawei FullView Display, with a 91% scree-to-body ratio.
Powered by Core i7-8550U processor, the laptop comes with 8GB or 16GB of RAM. For storage purpose it comes in 256GB and 512GB SSD variants. It features Nvidia GeForce MX150, 2GB GDD RT for graphics. The notebook has a 1MP front facing camera and quad digital microphones. For connectivity purpose, there are two USB-Type C ports and one USB-Type A port. Along with that the laptop also has a built-in fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 4.1 and2x2 Multiple I/O.
The laptop is said to offer up to 12 hours of 1080p video playback, 14 hours of regular work or 15 hours of webpage browsing. The device features the super-fast power button 2.0 which is said to enable login in 7.8 seconds from power off, and 6.6 seconds from hibernation.
Size wise the laptop measures at 304x217x14.6 mm in dimensions and weighs around 1.33 kg. Available in colors of mystic silver and space grey, the starting price of the laptops are approx. Rs. 1,20,000 for the i5 variant and approx. Rs.1,51,400 for the i7 version.
The MediaPad M5 series comes in three variants; the 84-inch and 10.8-inch MediaPad M5 variants and the 10.8-inch MediaPad M5 Pro variant. The pro version has a 2560×1600 IPS display with 280 ppi. At the core is a Huawei Kirin 960 octa-core processor, with 64GB/128GB of ROM memory. It also comes with a microSD card slot which gives up to 250 GB additional capacity. The pro version is packed with a 7500mAh lithium-polymer battery.
The base 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch models also have the Huawei Kirin 960 octa-core processors. The former has 359ppi, 5100mAh lithium-polymer battery and the latter has 280ppi, 7500mAh lithium-polymer battery. All the models support quick charging.
All the 3 models come with ambient lighting sensors, gyroscope, accelometer, compass, fingerprint sensors and in-built microphone quad speakers. They all have a 8MP front facing camera with fixed focus and a 13MP rear camera with autofocus. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, a nano-sim card slot for LTE. With the 10.8-inch MediaPad Pro comes the Huawei M-Pen, which has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, to be used for taking notes.
They run on the Android 8.0 and EMUI 8.0 and come in space grey and champagne gold colours. Huawei MediaPad M5 prices start at approx.Rs.27,800 for 8.4-inch version and approx. Rs. 31,800 for the 10.8-inch version.
