HTC India has taken to its social media account to say "We're excited to bring Android 8.0 Oreo to HTC U11, HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 owners worldwide! More details to be announced soon.
HTC has announced on Twitter that a number of its devices are going to be getting the Android Oreo update very soon. In its post on the social media platform, the company said “We’re excited to bring Android Oreo to HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10 owners worldwide! Details & additional devices to be announced soon.”
In the meantime, HTC India has taken to its social media account to say “We’re excited to bring Android 8.0 Oreo to #HTCU11, #HTCUUltra, and #HTC10 owners worldwide! More details to be announced soon.” All three of the devices are currently working on Android Nougat.
The company has also said that the three devices are going to be receiving the update on its software in Q4 which extends from October to December. This has been mentioned in yet another tweet that says, “We’re excited to bring Android 8.0 to the HTC U11, U Ultra, & 10, beginning with U11 in Q4. Stay tuned for more Oreo details & new products!”
This has started speculations that all the companies that Google is in talks with are going to be bringing the Android Oreo update to its devices in and around this very time. These companies include Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Huawei, Nokia, LG, Motoral, Kyocera and HTC to name a few.
OnePlus and HMD Global (Nokaia) are the other companies apart from HTC that have confirmed that they are going to be coming out with this update but they haven’t released a specific time that they are going to be releasing the update on. The CEO of OnePlus has said that the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be getting the updates. HMD Global has said that the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are going to be getting the Android Oreo update. All of the above mentioned phones are currently running on Android Nougat OS.

The Android Oreo is going to have the picture-in-picture feature which will allow users to work on two applications simultaneously. Updates are also present in the notification panel which will allow users to see what is new in their apps. The security on Android Oreo is going to be boosted along with minimizing the overuse of battery from those apps that are running in the background. Google also says that it is going to increase the speed of the device and will have support for Android Instant Apps. The emojis too are going to be redesigned with more than 60 new emojis appearing on Android Oreo.
Google has also said that it is going to be introducing a feature called Project Treble which according to the company will make it “easier, faster and less costly for manufacturers to update devices to a new version of Android.” This will mean that any updates the Android Oreo will have in the future will happen very rapidly.
