Flipkart will launch the Billion Capture+ handset in the country on November 15, 2017.
Flipkart unveiled its first Billion Capture+ smartphone in India on November 10, 2017. The E-commerce giant announced the Billion brand, which is an India-centric private label, in July 2017. According to the company, the Billion Capture+ has been ‘Made in India’ and was developed with a focus on the needs of Indian consumers. Commenting on the company’s first smartphone, Sachin Bansal, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman at Flipkart said, “The features in the Capture+ have been derived from deep data-mining of millions of Flipkart customers’ reviews. Few true dual camera phones offer this combination of flagship features. We’re sure this customer-centricity will delight Indian smartphone buyers.”
Flipkart will launch the Billion Capture+ handset in the country on November 15, 2017. The company is providing several offers which include easy finance options like no-cost EMIs, discounts on certain debit or credit cards and much more. In addition to this, users of the Capture+ smartphone can avail of F1 Info Solutions’ (a Flipkart-owned company) after-sales service across India. As of today, Flipkart has not revealed details about the free of cost cloud storage service linked to the smartphone.
The smartphone will be available in two colours, Mystic Black as well as Desert Gold, and will come in two variants. The variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage costs Rs. 10,999 whereas the variant with 4GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB is priced at Rs. 12,999. Earlier in October, Flipkart had announced plans to invest $500 million in its payment arm PhonePe, in a bid to take on archrival Paytm, currently India’s largest mobile wallet provider.
The handset sports a metallic body and has rounded corners. Currently the device runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. However, Flipkart is promising no bloatware as well as an Android Oreo update. The Capture+ has a 5.5-inc full-HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a density of 401ppi pixels. The display comes with a 2.5D Dragontrail glass for protection.
Beneath the hood, this device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoCprocessor along with 3GB as well as 4GB RAM. The internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. The smartphone comes with a 3500mAh battery with USB Type-C support to enable fast charging of the device. Moreover, the battery can last for approximately 7 hours after it is charged for 15 minutes according to claims made by Flipkart.
As the name suggests, a major highlight of the Billion Capture+ is its dual camera setup at the rear. The smartphone comes with two rear 13-megapixel cameras. One of these cameras has a RGB sensor whereas the other camera has a rear monochrome sensor. The smartphone also has a dual flash which is located next to the rear cameras. Both the sensors enable users to click pictures in low-light conditions. Moreover, they offer features such as bokeh shots which capture minor details. It is also possible to click pictures with a blurry background in the portrait mode. The smartphone also sports a front-facing 8-megapixel camera.
