Pixel 2 can avail a flat discount of Rs.11,001. On making payments through credit and debit cards, they will get a further discount of Rs.10,000 only on Flipkart Big Shopping Days Sale.

Google Pixel 2, the company’s latest premium offering, will be available at a huge discount during Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days sale. Pixel 2 was one of the most anticipated phones this year. The 64GB model of the handset was launched in India in October at a price of Rs.61,000, while the 128GB model was being sold at Rs.70,000. Meanwhile, a plethora of smartphone models have entered the market, leaving the Indian consumer spoilt for choice. Google probably felt the pricing of Pixel 2 would be a significant deterrent, with so many choices available.

In a bid to lure Android buffs, Google plans to offer Pixel 2 at a highly discounted price of Rs.39,999, during Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days sale, scheduled from December 7 to December 9. The Big Shopping Days sale will offer Pixel 2 in three colours, Black, White and Blue.

During the sale, buyers of Pixel 2 can avail a flat discount of Rs.11,001. On making payments through credit and debit cards, they will get a further discount of Rs.10,000. The ecommerce giant has come up with exchange offers with discounts of up to Rs.18,000. Moreover, a buyback guarantee of up to Rs.36,500 has been announced.

Flipkart had recently launched its own cell phone, Billion Capture+, which it claimed to have developed after “deep data-mining of millions of Flipkart customers’ reviews” to determine the features.

An Attractive Alternative to OnePlus 5T

With the price cut, Pixel 2 will become an attractive alternative to OnePlus 5T, which is currently being considered as the best option among smartphones in the below Rs.40,000 price segment. While Flipkart is doing its best to promote Pixel 2, OnePlus 5T is exclusively available on archrival Amazon. In fact, OnePlus 5T was very well received by Indian consumers, with the phone being sold out in less than five minutes of being put on a special pre-launch sale on Amazon India on November 21.

Flipkart has gone to the extent of commenting that the choice between Pixel 2 and OnePlus 5T is a no brainer, at that price point.

The biggest USP of Google’s Pixel 2 is its dual-pixel camera, which is claimed to be much better than that offered by OnePlus 5T. Pixel 2 comes with a 12-megapixel rear sensor with dual-pixels. Due to this, it is possible to deliver images in the portrait mode. Moreover, there are options for optical image stabilization as well as electronic image stabilization for producing enhanced low-light images. The 8-megapixel front camera has 1.4 micron pixels and offers support for the portrait mode. This mode utilizes machine learning for blurring the background in images.

Will Get a Software Upgrade for Three Years

The Pixel 2 comes with small tweaks in terms of design. It offers a small glass window on the rear. Moreover, the fingerprint sensor on the back aligns seamlessly with Pixel 2’s metal body. The handset has a 5-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon

835 processor. The device offers 4GB RAM with an internal storage of 64GB or 128GB. Going by the information available as of today, the discount will be offered only on the 64GB variant of Pixel 2.

The Pixel 2 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo coupled with upgraded security patches and comes with a guarantee for upgrading software for a period of three years. The devices pack a 2700mAh battery and supports USB Type-C port for fast charging.
