Nvidia’s Max-Q Technology
The relatively slim aluminium chassis size (18.9mm thick) of the notebook was possible due to Nvidia’s Max-Q technology and Acer’s AeroBlade 3D metal fans. The inclusion of these fans has led to an increase in airflow by 35%, as compared to conventional fans, while taking less space. The Predator Triton 700 includes two 512GB NVMe PCIe SSDs in the RAID 0 configurtaion, along with 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, which the user can upgrade to 32GB.
The 2.6kg laptop is powered by a 4670mAh battery that can last for up to 5 hours on a single charge, and offers bright, vibrant visuals on a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, offering resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, along with LED backlighting, brightness of 300 nit, viewing angle of 170 degrees, refresh rate of 120Hz, along with optional Nvidia G-Sync tech support.
An RGB-backlit mechanical keyboard with anti-ghosting tech and the PredatorSense software allows gamers to control and customise the notebook’s vitals. Moreover, there is a Corning Gorilla Glass plate above the keyboard, which is certified as a Microsoft Precision Touchpad and allows one to see right through to the laptop’s cooling system.
The Predator Triton 700 claims to give the user great audio experience with its two stereo speakers, along with Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Atmos surround sound As far as connectivity goes, the laptop offers dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2×2 MIMO technology, Killer DoubleShot Pro networking, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, which supports speeds up to 40 Gbps and dual 4K video output, Bluetooth v4.1, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an HDMI 2.0 port and a DisplayPort connector.
The company also claims that the Predator Triton 700 is VR ready, while it comes with Skype for Business certification, for better quality video conferencing. Given that this device is positioned as an “ultrathin gaming notebook,” it definitely does offer top-of-the-line graphics and a powerful processor with thermal technology to provide gamers with hours of smooth gaming.
And with the use of Max-Q, which NASA uses to launch rockets into space while reducing aerodynamic stress, Nvidia provides a means for the laptop to offer great GPU performance without having to compromise on thickness.
