TCL Launches Alcatel 5,3 and 1 series phones at MWC 2018

Alcatel Smartphones come with a FullView 18:9 display and the Face Key facial recognition technology, which the company claims can record hundreds of biometric data points in less than half a second, and a fingerprint sensor.


TCL Communication announced the launch of its Alcatel 1X as one of the first smartphones with Android Go at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The smartphone, which was unveiled at CES 2018, features the Go edition of Android Oreo.

The company also launched other devices in its Alcatel 5, 3 and 1 series. All its smartphones launched at the MWC event come with a FullView 18:9 display and the Face Key facial recognition technology, which the company claims can record hundreds of biometric data points in less than half a second, and a fingerprint sensor.

Alcatel 1X with Android Go The Alcatel 1X is among the first devices to launch Google’s Android Go. The Go edition has been envisioned to give great user experience to users of entry-level phones. The smartphone comes preloaded with Gmail Go, Google Go, Assistant Go, Maps Go, Files Go, YouTube Go, and a voice-activated Google Assistant Go.

Alcatel 1X also offers some other amazing features like Photo Booth, Instant Collage, and Social Square.

 

Alcatel 1X: Specifications

Alcatel 1X comes with a 5.3-inch display, with resolution of 480×960 pixels. The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, with 1GB and 2GB RAM options and 16GB internal storage.

The phone offers a dual rear camera setup, with a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP back camera, with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is 5MP. It packs in a 2,460mAh battery. Some models will have a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

The Alcatel 1X single-SIM variant is priced at €100 (around ₹8,000), while the dual-SIM variant is priced at €110 (around ₹8,000).

The device will be available in four color options – Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.

 

Alcatel 5 Series: Specifications

The Alcatel 5 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 processor. It runs Android Nougat.

There are two variants – one that offers 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and the other offers 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The phone sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a dual front camera setup, with 3MP and 5MP sensors. The device packs in a 3,000mAh battery.

 

Alcatel 3 Series: Specifications

The Alcatel 3V comes with a 6-inch display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT8735A processor. It runs Android Oreo.

There are two variants – one that offers 16GB internal storage and the other offers 32GB internal storage. Both have 2GB RAM.

The phone sports a dual rear camera setup, with 12MP and 2MP sensors. The front camera 5MP. The device packs in a 3,000mAh battery.

The Alcatel 3X comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 processor. It runs Android Nougat.

There are two variants – one that offers 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and the other offers 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
