Geekbench, a benchmarking website, has created a storm in the technology space with the latest Samsung smartphones that have been listed on the website. These smartphone models bear the numbers SM-G9650 and SM-G9600 and have started a number of rumours about the series that they are going to be a part of.
The SM-G9650 has scored a total of 1819 in the single core test and 4494 in the multi-core test. It runs on the Android 7.1.2 model and also has a quad-core Qualcomm processor that clocks at 1.78GHz. This Android 7.1.2 model is one that has not been seen on many phones outside the Nexus and Pixel mobiles. The phone is going to be having a RAM of 4GB. The motherboard is named sdm845 which could be an indication towards a chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
When it comes to the SM-G9600, the phone has scored a total of 1782 in the single core test and a total of 4212 in the multi-core test. It is also going to be running on the Android 7.1.2 model and will also have a RAM of 4GB. The quad-core Qualcomm processor, however, is going to be clocked at 1.77GHz. The chipset is going to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 840.
Both the models are surrounded by their own rumours, but there is no concrete information that has been given out by the company. The SM-G9600 is touted to be the Samsung Galaxy S8+’s lite version. Although many tech experts do support this version, there are also rumours out there that say that the quad core processor that the mobile has is similar to the Snapdragon 660 series.
There are strong rumours about the SM-G9650 being the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S9. Rumours also exist about both the versions of the mobile being a part of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ lite series. The only thing that tech experts are agreeing on is that this model is not the much awaited Note 8 Phablet but is either part of the 8 series or is the new 9 series altogether.
Until the company reveals what series the respective models belong to, there is no way of being sure of the same. All one can do is keep refreshing their webpages in the hope that Samsung announces something very soon.
