Samsung announced the launch of Notebook 9 Pen (2018) and three updated versions of Notebook 9 in South Korea on December 14. Both the laptops run on Windows 10. Samsung’s latest 2-in-1 PC, the Notebook 9 Pen, comes with an all-metal chassis made out of magnesium. Due to this the laptop weighs merely 995 grams. The company is introducing three variants of the Notebook 9 (2018). This laptop weighs 1.29 kg and is 15.4mm thick, which makes it one of the thinnest and lightest notebooks.
The 2018 models of Samsung’s Notebook 9 comprise a 13.3-inch (900X3T and 900X3U) variant, a 15-inch (900X5T and 900X5U) variant, and a 900X5T Discreet Graphics variant. These variants have a Full HD RealViewTouch display offering 1920×1080 pixels resolution. The notebooks comprise an eighth generation Intel Core i7 SoC with DDR4 RAM of up to 16GB, NVMe PCIe SSD of up to 1 TB and Intel’s HD graphics. Samsung’s 15-inch variant comes with the option for upgrading to Nvidia GeForce MX150 (2GB GDDR5) via a graphics card. The three variants will be available in two colors, Crush White and Titan Silver.

This battery comes with support for fast charging the Always-on capabilities.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Notebook 9 Pen comes with a 13-inch 930QAA Full HD RealViewTouch display offering 1920×1080 pixels resolution. The 2-in-1 PC is also powered by an eighth generation Intel Core i7 SoC, up to 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and Intel’s HD graphics. This laptop offers an Integrated S Pen, a fingerprint sensor, precision touchpad and backlit keyboard. Connectivity options include an HDMI port, USB port, USB Type-C port, and microSD storage. This model comes with a 45W DC-in adapter. The Windows Hello camera on the front offers a resolution of 720p. The laptop has a 39Wh battery.
The new Integrated S Pen bundled along with Notebook 9 Pen 2-in-1 PC, is battery-free. Moreover, as it is built into the Notebook 9 Pen 2, it can be used immediately. Samsung claims that the S Pen can identify 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity by way of a 0.7mm tip as well as tilt detection to enable a better drawing and writing experience.
According to Samsung, the Notebook 9 (2018) and Notebook 9 Pen will be available in South Korea in December 2017 and will be released in the US in the first quarter of 2018. Both the laptops will be showcased at CES 2018. The company may also unveil the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at the event in Las Vegas.
