F5 Youth comes with a 6-inch full-HD+ LTPS TFT display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
Oppo has launched its F5 Youth smartphone in India. This model was announced at the launch of the F5 in the country last month. Oppo F5 Youth is a new variant of the F5, a bezel-less, selfie-centric phone. The Youth edition was first released in the Philippines in November. This edition is a toned-down version of the Oppo F5 in terms of the RAM, in-built storage and cameras. The remaining specifications are identical to the Oppo F5.
Oppo probably realized it must cater to the more tech-savvy youth in India, who are often price sensitive. F5 Youth is, therefore, priced lower than the F5. It is available at Rs.16,990, while Oppo F5 has a starting price of Rs.18,299. Both models highlight AI for selfies.
F5 Youth goes on sale in India today. The smartphone is available in two colours, black and gold, and can be purchased online and offline across the country. The company has not announced any launch offers as yet.
F5 Youth comes with a 6-inch full-HD+ LTPS TFT display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The F5 offers support for dual-SIM and has a microSD card slot.
F5 Youth sports a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with a f/2.2 aperture lens as well as a LED flash. The front 16-megapixel camera has a f/2.0 aperture lens and a flash. This selfie camera comes with an AI-based beautification technology. In contrast, Oppo F5 has a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with a f/1.8 aperture and a 20-megapixel front camera along with a f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The front camera can recognise background light and is capable of enhancing the luminosity of portraits for better selfies. Both F5 and F5 Youth have AI-enabled beautification technology, which Oppo claims “heightens your natural beauty based on your age, skin tone and skin type”.
Oppo’s F5 Youth has a Color OS 3.2 user interface based on the Android 7.1 Nougat OS. The device packs a 3,200 mAh battery. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back. In addition to this, the smartphone comes with a Facial Unlock feature which uses your face to unlock the screen.
