The new Oppo F5 selfie smartphone has all-screen front sporting slim bezels around a 6-inch Full HD LTPS display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. On the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus is the first G-series smartphone to sport a metal design comprising high-grade aluminium 6000. Another interesting feature is the capacitive home button which enables users to browse through the device’s interface. The G5 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD IPS LCD display (1080×1920 pixels).



In terms of specifications, the Oppo F5 comes in two variants offering 4GB RAM plus 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM along with 64GB storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB through microSD card. The Moto G5 Plus also has two variants offering 3GB RAM and 16GB as well as 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Moreover, an additional microSD card slot enables users to insert two SIM cards along with microSD.

The Nano dual-SIM F5 runs on ColorOS 3.2 which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6763T octa-core SoC processor along with 4GB or 6GB RAM and sports a 3200mAh battery. In contrast, the dual-SIM G5 Plus runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, is powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB RAM and has a 3000mAh non-removable battery with TurboPower. This enables the battery to last for six hours after charging it for merely 15 minutes.



As for imaging options, the F5 comes with the much-touted Artificial Intelligence (AI) beauty recognition technology and facial feature optimisation technology, integrated with its huge 20-megapixel front-facing camera, with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. With over 200 positioning shots the F5 is capable of accentuating facial features as well as contours to enhance the symmetry between different features like the cheekbones, eyes, nose and jawline. In fact, the beauty-iris tool makes your eyes shine brighter in every photo. Moreover, the front camera can recognize a background light besides enhancing the luminosity of portraits, which result in improved selfies. With this camera it is also possible to click Bokeh shots. The phone’s rear 16-megapixel camera comes with a dual-LED flash and has an f/1.8 aperture.

The G5 Plus offers a best-in-class 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, dual autofocus pixels, 4K video recording as well as a dual-LED flash. The front 5-megapixel camera has an f/2.2 aperture and offers a wide-angle lens. Moreover, there are several Moto Actions which allow the use of gestures as well as other stimuli in order to activate the camera or the flashlight.



A highlight of the Oppo F5 is O-Share which transfers files between Oppo phones faster as compared to Bluetooth.
