The Taiwanese handset maker HTC is expected to launch its much-awaited flagship smartphone, the U11 Plus, at an event in Taipei on November 2, 2017. Experts believe that the smartphone is likely to be priced at ₹59,990 for India.

Recently the HTC U11 Plus was spotted on TENAA, the Chinese certification site that is a reliable source of leaks. The site’s listing images reveal that in all probability, the HTC U11 Plus will have an 18:9 aspect ratio display, which of late has been an integral feature of several premium and mid-range smartphones. Preliminary leaks also indicate that the handset will have a 5.99-inch WQHD display, with a screen resolution of 1440×2880 pixels. Moreover, the back panel appears to have a glass-like finish and comes with a fingerprint scanner too.

The HTC U11 Plus has also been listed on the GeekBench site, which discloses some details about the innards of the handset. The benchmark site leak claims that the smartphone will come with 4GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. Also, it will run on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

The “Brilliant U” Series

HTC had confirmed its plans of bringing back the “Brilliant U” in early October, indicating that the HTC U11 Life is likely to be launched along with the HTC U11 Plus in the first week of November. It is expected that both the new handsets will sport squeezable frames, which is also a feature of the HTC U11.

Going by some more leaked specifications, the U11 Plus is likely to comprise a 3,930mAh non-removable battery, supporting Quick Charge 3.0 technology, a Boom Sound audio and Edge Sense. Further, the upcoming phone’s Snapdragon 835 processor is clocked at 2.4GHz and will be accompanied by the Adreno 540 GPU. The handset will also have an 8 MP front-facing camera and a 12 MP rear dual LED flash camera with f/1.7 aperture. Buyers can choose between two storage variants of the handset, 4GB RAM (64GB) and 6GB RAM (128GB).
