Huawei will be launching the Honor View 10 in India on January 8, 2018. The View 10 is the first AI-enabled smartphone from the Chinese company. According to Huawei, Honor View 10 will be able to sense who is using the handset and customize functions accordingly. This smartphone was launched globally at an event in London on December 5, where Huawei also announced its launch date for India. The phone was first unveiled in China on November 28.
Currently, Huawei is making its presence felt with the launch of Honor 7X as an Amazon Exclusive in India.
This mid-range handset’s most touted feature is its Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC processor with a dedicated NPU or neural network processing unit coupled with 6GB RAM. This NPU is meant for tasks based on artificial intelligence. The Honor View 10’s AI-based features consist of Facial Unlock technology, which is capable of supporting payment-level authentication. This technology can also unlock the screen at a speed of 400ms. This smartphone uses sub-millimetre accuracy to enable it to reconstruct a 3D face. Moreover, the device is capable of delivering a 300k-point cloud reconstruction in merely 10 seconds. The View 10 also has an AI-based tool for translating languages in real time without needing an internet connection.

Artificial Intelligence also makes it possible for cameras to recognize facial features and enhance them automatically to produce high-quality portraits.
The Nano dual-SIM device runs on Android 8.0-based EMUI 8.0. It has a 5.99-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels, 403ppi pixel density and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The handset comes with an in-built storage of 128GB, which is expandable up to 256GB through a microSD card. Moreover, the smartphone has a 3750mAh battery that is claimed to offer up to 23 hours talk-time and 22 days standby time. This battery also offers 5V/ 4.5A which supports fast charging.
There are several options for connectivity like 4G VoLTE, dual-band with 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Infrared, USB Type-C 2.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board comprise an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a digital compass, a gyroscope and a proximity sensor. The phone sports a fingerprint sensor on its home button.
Honor View 10 will be available in the US, India, Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Russia and Spain on January 8. It will be available for EUR 499 (approximately Rs.38,000) and GBP 449 (approximately Rs.38,900). As of now, there is no news regarding the price of the smartphone in India.
