Honor 9 Lite has 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels, an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 428ppi pixel density.
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 9 Lite in China. The key highlights of this smartphone are a 5.65-inch 18:9 IPS display, a dual-camera setup on the front and rear, and an Android Oreo 8.0 based EMUI 8.0. In contrast, the Honor 9 sports a 16:9 display and dual cameras on the rear.
Huawei will be introducing the Honor View 10 in India on January 8, 2018. The View 10 is the first AI-enabled handset from Huawei. It was launched globally in London on December 5 and was first unveiled in China on November 28.
The 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant of Honor 9 Lite costs CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs.11,700) while the 4GB RAM and 32GB storage variant comes at a price of CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs.15,600). The 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant costs CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs.17,500). The handset will be sold in China from December 26, 2017 onwards. Registrations for the first sale commenced on December 22, 2017. At the launch event, Huawei announced that the Honor 9 Lite will be sold in 14 other countries shortly, including Russia, India, and the UK, according to a GizmoChina report.
The Nano dual-SIM phone measures 151×71.9×7.6mm and weighs 149 grams. The device runs on Android Oreao-based EMUI 8.0. It sports a 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels, an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 428ppi pixel density. This smartphone is powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor. Four cores clock at a speed of 2.36GHz while the other four cores clock at a speed of 1.7GHz along with 3GB or 4GB RAM.
This smartphone dual-camera setups on the front and rear comprise a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera comes with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and LED flash. The internal storage in both the 32GB and 64GB variants of Honor 9 can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
There are several options for connectivity on the Honor 9 Lite such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB with OTG support, GPS/ A-GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors include an accelerometer, a magnetometer (digital compass), a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. The Honor 9 Lite is powered by a 3000mAh battery which is claimed to deliver up to 20 hours of talk time on a 3G network and up to 24 days of standby time. The battery can be charged fully in approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Huawei had launched the Honor 8 Lite in January this year. The predecessor of Honor 9 Lite offers a 5.2-inch 1080p display, is powered by an octa core Kirin 655 processor, packs in a 3,000mAh battery, and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 128GB. This handset sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
