Alcatel A5 LED has a 5.2-inch HD display offering a resolution of 720×1280 pixels, with a metal body as well as a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
Alcatel has launched the A5 LED in India. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer also unveiled the Alcatel 7 at the launch event in New Delhi. Both these A-series smartphones were first unveiled in the US and Europe.
Alcatel A5 LED made its debut at MWC 2017 in February, while A7 was unveiled along with A7 XL, Idol 5 and Idol 5S more recently at IFA 2017. All these four handsets come with a metal body as well as a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
The new modular Alcatel A5 LED smartphone is priced at Rs.12,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India till November 13. The metallic silver phone will come along with a 3100 mAh Power+ Mod battery cover worth Rs.3,999, data of up to 20 GB from Reliance Jio, no-cost EMIs and various exchange offers. In addition to this, there is a onetime offer for replacing the screen free of cost, valid for a period of 90 days.
The most touted feature of this device is its Lightup+Mod, which enables an interactive LED show. With the help of the Lightup+Mod feature, the rear or back LED panel of this smartphone starts blinking, and users can see notifications for incoming calls, messages, alarms and social media messages or alerts on the rear panel.
The LED-flashing rear cover of the smartphone can be removed as well as replaced by other covers. In this respect, it is similar to a battery pack. Moreover, with the aid of Color Catcher it is possible for users to create unique LED themes and cover patterns so that they look different every day. Also, it is possible to synchronise the LEDs on the rear panel with the playlist via a pre-loaded app.
The device has a 5.2-inch HD display offering a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with 3 GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 16 GB, which can be expanded through a microSD card. Moreover, the device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In addition to this, the Power+ Mod, which comes with an inbuilt battery, allows users to increase the charging capacity from 2800mAh to 5900mAh.
On the imaging front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera which has an f/2.0 aperture as well as dual-tone LED flash. There is a front-facing 5-megapixel camera for clicking selfies. The LED A5 also has a Private mode feature which allows users to open two social media accounts.
