Mi MIX 2S would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, making it the first smartphone to carry this processor. Only last month, Xiaomi and Qualcomm had announced their partnership on Snapdragon 845.
Xiaomi is rumored to be developing the Mi MIX 2S, an upgrade to last year’s Mi MIX 2. The Chinese company could unveil this latest model even before attending the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, scheduled to be held in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1.
There have already been leaks on Weibo suggesting Xiaomi’s plans to launch the Mi 6X, a successor to its Mi 5X, at the forthcoming MWC. The Chinese company is also expected to be gearing up to launch its new chipset Surge S2 at MWC 2018. The Surge S2 will likely power the new Xiaomi Mi 6X or Mi A2.

Although the Chinese handset maker was earlier expected to launch the Mi 7 at the MWC 2018 with this new processor; latest leaks suggest that this model may not be unveiled at this highly-awaited event.
There had also been speculations of Samsung Galaxy S9 being the first smartphone to carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, but it seems like Xiaomi may beat the South Korean smartphone giant with its launch of Mi MIX 2S even before MWC 2018.
Rumors suggest that Mi Mix 2S would not have any major feature upgrades to the Mi Mix 2. There are expectations, however, of the upcoming model to sport a completely bezel-less display. For this, the front camera may have been shifted to the top for Mi Mix 2S, versus featuring at the bottom on Mi Mix 2.
