Xiaomi has entered the segment of gaming specific computing devices, with the launch of its new Xiaomi Mi Gaming laptop, in the same event where it launched the Mi MIX 2S. The device is powered by the 7th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, and packs a Nvdia GeForce 1060 graphics card, with 6GB video memory.

For connectivity purpose, the device has 4 USB 3.0 ports, a single USB Type-C port, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet and microphone/headphone jacks. Two 4K monitors can be connected to it through the HDMI 2.0 and USB-C ports.
For heat dissipation, the laptop has large heat pipes; a combination of 3+2 large diameter heat pipes along with four fan outlets. It has 46% of air-intake grills on its build. Under the hood, the device has a 55Wh battery that allows up to 5.5 hours of local video playback and 6.5 hours of web browsing.

The Mi MIX 2S was also launched at the same event as the laptop. The smartphone surprisingly does not bear a design similar to iPhone X, though it has vertical dual-rear cameras. The cameras include two 12MP sensors and supports dynamic bokeh and scene recognition. The AI-based scene recognition is said to recognize up to 206 scenes. The 5MP front camera has HDR and facial unlocking capabilities. The handset comes with a ceramic body, which is curved on the four sides. It bears a 5.99-inch full HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel. The smartphone also supports Google’s ARCore.
