Awaiting the launch of new and even more exciting models in the budget phone segment in 2018.


India has already replaced the US as the world’s second largest smartphone market. And, this feat was achieved by the end of September 2017, which was before Chinese phone makers literally flooded the Indian market with countless models and irresistible holiday offers. India welcomed all these models with open arms. After all, OnePlus 5T was sold out within the first five minutes and Xiaomi sold close to 10 million units in a single quarter! We particularly enjoyed the launch of budget phones with amazing specifications, including bigger batteries, better cameras and more storage space. And, we’re eagerly awaiting the launch of new and even more exciting models in the budget phone segment in 2018.

 

Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime

This phone is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat and offer a 1.4 GHz Quad core Samsung Exynos 7 Quad 7570 SoC with 1.5 GB RAM. It will sport a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Its 16GB internal storage will be expandable up to 128 GB. It will offer a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. The device is expected to pack in a 2600 mAh battery and offer connectivity options like wifi, b/g/n, micro USB 2.0, audio jack, USB, GPS and Bluetooth.

 

Moto E4 Plus

This smartphone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch HD display offering 720×1280 pixels resolution. E4 Plus will be powered by 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6737 processor and have 2GB RAM. Its 16GB inbuilt storage will be expandable up to 128 GB. Imaging options will include a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Both the cameras will come with LED flash. This dual-SIM Nano device will have a massive 5000 mAh battery and connectivity options like Volte, Wifi, Bluetooth, USB and GPS.

 

Xiaomi Redmi 5

This upcoming model of Redmi 5 will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based on the company’s MIUI9. The dual-SIM Nano device will offer a 1.8 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 paired with Adreno 506 and 2GB RAM. Its internal storage of 16GB will be expandable to up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The Redmi 5 will sport a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with 720×1440 pixels resolution. Imaging options will comprise a 12-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera with LED Flash. It will offer a 3300 mAh battery and several options for connectivity like Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and USB.

 

Sony Xperia L1

Xperia L1 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. This dual SIM Nano handset will run on Android 7.0 Nougat and offer a 1.45 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6737T SoC along with 2GB RAM. Its 6GB inbuilt storage will be expandable to up to 256 GB. Imaging options will include a 13-megapixel primary camera with flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. It will offer a 2620 mAh battery and connectivity options like USB Type-C, FM Radio, Wifi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS.

 

Lenovo K6

This dual SIM Nano phone will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It will sport a 5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. K6 will offer a 1.2 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with Adreno 505 and 2GB RAM. Its 16GB inbuilt storage will be expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
