OnePlus, the company whose latest device is being looked forward to with great anticipation, has announced that the OnePlus 5 is going to be available in the soft gold colour.

The company has been teasing the third colour of the device since a while, after announcing that it would be releasing a matte black and slate grey version.

A statement given by the company says, “When we introduced Soft Gold last summer, our fans couldn’t get enough of this silky-soft texture. Our subtle take on this shade quickly became a OnePlus classic. We’re excited to announce Soft Gold will be available on the OnePlus 5 in select quantities. Experience power in elegance with this limited edition release.”

The company has also said that this soft gold version is going to be an exclusive one and that there will only be limited quantities of the device. This version will have a white coloured front while the back side will have a matte gold finish. There will also be a gold colour near the fingerprint sensor. The company has said that the shade of gold will be similar to that of the OnePlus 3 that was announced last year.

The General Manager of OnePlus India, Vikas Agarwal has said, “As a maker of the most beautifully designed smartphones, it gives us immense joy to introduce the latest Oneplus 5 with even more refined and elegant Soft Gold finish this festival season. The latest OnePlus 5 Soft Gold will appeal to those who are looking for the perfect balance of beautiful design and powerful features.”

The company has claimed that finishing the soft gold coating on the devices takes 180 days. It has also said that the soft gold on the OnePlus 5 is 30 per cent finer than the previous soft gold devices that it has come out with.

This particular version will only be available with a RAM of 6GB and storage of 64 GB. The full HD AMOLED display will be of 5.5 inches and the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. There will be one wide angle lens and one telephoto lens on the dual rear camera set up of 16MP +

20MP. The device’s camera will also have an aperture of f/2.0 while the front camera will have electronic image stabilisation and will be of 16MP.

The Oneplus 5 will also support Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack and WiFi 802.11ac. The battery will be of 3300mAh and will also have Dash charging. Read the detailed review for OnePlus 5 here.

The OnePlus 5 is going to go on sale during the Independence Day sale event on Amazon India. This sale starts on the 9th of August and on noon of the very same day the smart phone will go on sale in the OnePlus Store as well. The smartphone can also be purchased in the following stores: Mall of India (Noida), Select Citywalk (Delhi) and the experience stores in Bengaluru. The cost of this device will be INR 32,999.
