Vivo APEX comes with a 5.99-inch OLED display, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is the latest processor from the company. The device will likely have 4GB RAM.
At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, which concluded last week in Barcelona, Spain, Vivo introduced its first concept phone Vivo APEX with half-screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology and the world’s highest screen-to-body ratio. Earlier this year in January, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer had launched Vivo X20 Plus UD, the world’s first smartphone with the in-display fingerprint scanner technology. Now with Vivo APEX, users will no longer have to place their finger on a thumbnail-sized icon, to unlock the phone. The display area will be much larger too.
This Full View concept smartphone device is claimed to have the thinnest bezels in the market, with top and side bezels measuring only 1.8mm. It will also have a scree-to-body ratio exceeding 98%.

The huge display screen also serves as an earpiece and a loudspeaker. With an all-screen display, there had to be a new location for the earpiece speaker. The company has used the sound cast technology to enable the screen to produce vibration to emit audio through the display. Xiaomi has also employed the Cantilever Piezoelectric Ceramic Acoustic design, to allow users to hear voice without the traditional earpiece speaker.
Vivo APEX has an 8MP elevating front camera that rises and retracts as you use. This camera takes only 0.8 seconds to pop-up from the top of the phone. Apart from that, the phone has a dual-camera setup at the rear.
Vivo APEX is at a conceptual stage right now, and the company has made no announcements regarding the phone’s actual launch in the market. Going by the specifications promised, it will be a gadget to look forward to.
