This application goes by the name Sarahah which is an anonymous messaging application that allows you to send messages without even logging in to the application.
In case you have not been keeping up with the news, there is a new application out there that has been creating a storm in the world. This application goes by the name Sarahah which is an anonymous messaging application that allows you to send messages without even logging in to the application. This Arabica app is available on both Android and ios. The word Sarahah actually means honesty in Arabic.
All that a user needs to do is create a profile on the Sarahah app and people can then visit their profile and send them messages. These messages can be left without creating a profile or by posting through a profile that has been created by the person who is commenting. When a profile has been created, you have an option to stay anonymous or to tag your identity in the comments you are leaving behind. The person who is receiving the messages can delete them; reply to them, flag messages and favourite them.
The application is actually a few months old and the verdict on its usefulness is split. The makers of the application have said that the application helps people ‘self-develop by receiving constructive anonymous feedback.’ There are 10,305 5-star reviews on Google Play in favour of the app while it also has 9,652 1-star reviews against it.
The application has, however, drawn a lot of flak because people have been using it to post hateful comments on profiles. Here have also been cases of cyber bullying that are taking place. Even people who have praised the app on Play stores have said that it should not be used by those who are weak hearted.
Responding to the criticism, the makers of the app have tried to bring about changes by altering the privacy settings. Users now have the options of removing their profiles from search results and turn off access for those users who are unauthorized (those users who do not have a profile on the application). You can also block someone who has sent you messages you did not like.

However, website names have now been doing the rounds claiming that they can reveal the name of the people who have been sending you anonymous messages. The main of these two websites are Sarahah Exposer and Sarahah Spyer which say that they can unveil the names of people who have been sending anonymous messages. However, there is no way of unveiling the same yet, so you should be careful and not open the links which claim they can reveal the names of the people sending you messages. Another major drawback of this app is that it gains access to all the content that is on the phone of the users which can be very harmful.
These websites are only a way for the people behind them to make money and do not have any truth behind them. When you open these links, they lead you to a survey that you are asked to fill. So do not fall prey to all these hoaxes as there is no way to find out who is sending you the anonymous messages. So be careful while using such applications and try to be nice to other people.
